Chris started out his digital career on a Vic-20 where his love for all things computerised flourished. A developer at heart with a love of creative programming and problem solving, creating a solution to a complex problem makes his heart sing. Chris co-founded 1973 Ltd in 2004 along with Dave, naming the company after the year they were both born. 25 years in the industry with a huge passion for it, and still going strong!
Inspired by the burgeoning digital revolution in his teens, Dave ventured into web programming, clocking up years of experience as a developer within digital agencies. He became certified as an Eloqua developer in 2009, leading him onto a path of providing specialist email marketing services. In 2004 Dave co-founded 1973 Ltd along with Chris, naming the company after the year they were both born. Dave now heads up production and development, fuelled by lots of tea!
Victoria has worked in both in-house and agency positions for over 10 years, gaining valuable insight into how to take client projects from good to great. She completed the London Marathon in 2017 and caught the running bug! If she’s not at her desk, she’s most likely clocking up some lunchtime miles!
With over 20 years’ experience in marketing and business development, Alison loves embracing a challenge and is always on the lookout for new, exciting ways of engaging an audience – with a particularly keen interest on outcomes, if the stats are good, she’s happy! Her true passion is the outdoors, she enjoys nothing more than city breaks and exploring the countryside with her family, whether on foot or cycling.
Jamie has worked in our beloved bubble of creativity for 27 years. Prior to joining 1973 in 2017, he worked as a creative/account director in various London agencies working on global integrated campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world. He is owned by his cat, Hobo, is a keen bread maker, dabbles in music production, art and macro photography and has just completed his first fiction novel.
Bringing fresh thinking to the design team from 2017, Nick loves creating designs that try something new to catch the eye. Experience in animation and brand creation complement his Graphic Design skillset. A music lover through and through, Nick can frequently be found performing his acoustic-folk music at venues in the area.
Senior Account Manager
Having joined the team in September 2017, Michelle came from a print-focused marketing background, so was new to the world of digital. She may be a bit bossy and asks lots of questions, but she is sure to get the job done. When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring the world, soaking up the sunshine, socialising with pals and spending all her money shopping!
Head of Design
With a varied range of agency and in-house experience in the creative industry, Tom's expertise and wealth of knowledge in digital design and UX, branding, print and OOH means he’s got it all covered. With a keen interest in delivering quality designs for clients, Tom always keeps at the forefront of his mind exactly what the end user wants and needs throughout every project. Tom is hoping this year to learn a bit of Python using a Rasberry Pi and go on a bricklaying course.
Senior Account Manager
Vicky joined us early in 2018 and brings a wealth of experience managing all types of projects from web development to print. Having started in the world of the web as a front-end developer she’s got a working appreciation of what is possible and loves nothing more than delivering strategic solutions that make a real difference. She’s an avid traveller, nature lover and is out most evenings after work enjoying a walk with her cat.
Senior Account Manager
Having sat both sides of the fence, Laura brings to the accounts team 7+ years’ experience working in agency and in-house positions. She loves a client brief that lets her take creativity to the next level and push the boundaries when it comes to all things digital. Outside of work Laura loves an adventure, from beach walks on the Cornish coast, to backpacking Vietnam solo. And if adventure’s not an option, an Aperol spritz in the sun will suffice.
Front End Developer
Having a background of over 15 years in creative artwork for print and online, Steve joined 1973 in March 2019 to make the jump into front end development, building on his experience in creating emails and animated web banners. A love of progressive rock and live music sees him touring with his own band up and down the country.
Tara joined the team in 2019, after making ‘the big move’ from London to rural Oxfordshire. She has worked in digital marketing since leaving university and particularly enjoys campaign management. When not at work, she can usually be found up a mountain partaking in various Winter sports or at home trying to control her naughty ferrets.
Front End Developer
Kristina has been in the digital marketing industry for over 10 years, initially coming from a creative background before moving into front end development. She loves to code interactive and engaging content and is always looking for ways to push the envelope of email and web. Outside of work, Kristina enjoys nothing more than getting away from it all, whether it be relaxing on a beach, exploring a new city or somewhere with plenty of snow where she can hit the slopes.
Joe has over 35 years’ experience of trying to change the world through design with vast experience in design for print and branding ideas. “It’s not the thought that counts...it’s the quality of thought”. Beyond the design world, Joe is an accomplished playwright with several professional productions under his belt even at times directing his own productions. He has written his first book and more recently his passion for writing has taken a turn into film, writing several screenplays and flexing a new creative muscle.
Having started in more niche sectors of marketing, Charlotte has worked with both B2C and B2B clients. She has a keen interest in pushing the creative boundaries of clients briefs in the digital world as well as delivering successful events across different industries and sectors. Outside of work, Charlotte loves to travel, experiencing different cultures and foods all over the world. Doesn’t matter if it’s somewhere hot and sunny, or freezing in the Arctic, she’s always up for an adventure and can’t say no to a new destination!
